AFAS Training complex AZ Alkmaar – Top Level Lighting
The AFAS Training Complex of AZ Alkmaar in Wijdewormer is one of the most advanced sports facilities in the Netherlands. It is home not only to the first team but also to the youth academy, which ranks among the best in the country. For the development of this modern complex, a sustainable and high-quality lighting solution was sought that meets the demands of professional football as well as television broadcasting.

The execution of this project was carried out by Klaver Infra. With their extensive experience in sports field technology, they created an installation with VDL Sports Projects’ masts that is both functional and future-proof.
VDL-masten met AAA-LUX armaturen
AZ’s training fields are equipped with standard climbing masts, each fitted with two AAA-LUX LED fixtures. These fixtures are renowned for their high light quality, low energy consumption, and minimal light spillage—making them ideal for long-term, intensive use.
The main field of the complex is designed for TV matches. For this, eight masts were installed, each equipped with seven fixtures. Due to local zoning restrictions, the masts could not exceed 20 meters in height, requiring precise customization to achieve the required light intensity and uniformity.

Thanks to the collaboration between Klaver Infra, AAA-LUX, and VDL Sports Projects, AZ now has a lighting installation that meets the highest standards of professional sports and sustainability.
