Sportspark De Leemput Schijndel, New Sports Fields with Sustainable LED Lighting
As part of the redevelopment of Sportpark De Leemput in Schijndel, VDL Sports Projects delivered the complete sports lighting and power infrastructure for three newly constructed sports fields: a baseball field, softball field, and korfball field.
By using modern LED lighting and a future-proof infrastructure, the sports park is fully prepared to meet the demands of the coming decades.
Energy-Efficient, Tailored Lighting
Each field is equipped with new Philips Optivision LED luminaires, carefully tailored to the sport and level of use. The baseball field features eight masts with a light height between 20 and 22 meters, equipped with a total of 34 LED luminaires to ensure optimal light distribution for training sessions and matches.
The softball field also has eight masts, each 18 meters high, with a total of 16 luminaires. The korfball field is fitted with four masts of 15 meters, each equipped with a Philips Optivision LED luminaire. The lighting installations meet current standards for sports field lighting, providing excellent light quality with minimal energy consumption.
Smart Control and Energy Management
All fields are connected to a dynamic lighting system, allowing the lighting to be dimmed at different levels and controlled remotely via an app. This system enables easy switching between training, match, and maintenance lighting, ensuring maximum energy efficiency and ease of use.
In addition, VDL Sports Projects provided the complete power infrastructure, from laying underground power cables to installing the meter cabinets.
This approach makes the sports park not only technically complete but also future-proof and sustainably designed.
